What makes life difficult is that the
process of confronting and solving
problems is a painful one…
...It is through the pain of confronting
and resolving problems that we learn.
”
~ M. Scott Peck, The Road Less Traveled
Mediators are trained to help individuals recognize and verbalize the problems and conflicts they face with one another. These conflicts may occur in the workplace, in families, with neighbours or with businesses and organizations. Once the problems and conflicts are recognized and acknowledged, the mediator will guide the parties to work on possible solutions that they can agree on and with which they are comfortable.
A mediator assists the parties build relationships, find solutions that work and helps them reach agreements.

I am professionally trained in mediation and conflict resolution.  I have a degree in law and practiced law for 17 years until 1996. I left the practice of law and  was employed until March 2018 at Innovation, Science and Economic Development Canada in the Small Business Financing Program where I was responsible for developing policy interpretations, writing the Program's annual report and Guidelines, and conducting extensive research, analysis and recommendations of action on policy issues.

I am a Qualified Mediator (Q. Med)with the ADR Institute of Canada, and a Certified Elder Mediator (Cert. EM. Level 1) with Family Mediation Canada. I am a member of the ADR Institute of Ontario, a Board member of Family Mediation Canada and a Board member of Elder Mediation International Network.

I am an advocate for the concerns and problems that seniors and their families face. I give direction and assistance to people in solving conflicts in their lives and reuniting families due to those conflicts.  In particular, I assist families that are struggling in accepting a loved one's dementia and in creating a care plan for their loved one.
